Premiered in May 2011 at Leigh Hall and Tapac Theatre
Q theatre , as part of Tempo Festival, also Waikehe Island, and Body festival Christchurch – October 2011

Bringing to life the striking images of female divinity including the Madonna and the Hindu goddess’ Kali and Pavarti, SHINE LADY traces and explores the cycles of human life. Full of strange surprises, humour and pathos this  work creates an other worldly experience that has  entranced and inspired  audiences of all ages . The work is primarily an abstract contemporary dance for three dancers, but so rich in imagery and detail that it is a joy to watch. The set, designed by Mike Petre, is a magical series of wooden boxes, with turned legs and apendages that is illuminated from within by remote controlled L.E.D. lights. The music is a bizarre journey from Bach cello suites, PJ Harvey, Bandicoot (3 NZ 15 year old schoolkids) to infectious gypsy romps.
